Terms of Service

Effective September 25, 2026

EasyCaption helps you communicate face to face by turning speech into text. Captions can be wrong, so please don’t rely on them alone when accuracy matters.

1. Agreement

By downloading or using EasyCaption (“the app”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

2. What the app does

The app transcribes speech into text on your device, lets you type replies, and can read text aloud. Transcription uses Apple speech recognition and may require downloading language resources from Apple.

3. Accuracy and important situations

Speech recognition is not perfect. Captions may miss, change or mishear words, especially with background noise, distance, accents or overlapping voices.

  • Do not rely on the app as your only means of communication in emergencies, or for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions.
  • The app is not a certified interpreting or captioning service and does not replace professional interpreters.
  • Confirm important information directly with the person you are talking to.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use the app. Transcribing a conversation may be subject to privacy or consent laws where you are. Respect the people you talk with, and ask for their permission where required.

5. Your content

Your conversations and phrases belong to you. They are stored on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own iCloud account. We do not have access to them. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Third-party services

The app relies on services provided by Apple, including speech recognition, system read-aloud voices, iCloud and the App Store. Your use of those services is governed by Apple’s terms.

7. Built-in voices

Read-aloud in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese uses Supertonic 3, a speech model by Supertone Inc. licensed under the OpenRAIL-M license. By using these voices you agree not to use them, or the speech they generate:

  • in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation;
  • to exploit or harm minors in any way;
  • to generate or spread verifiably false information intended to harm others;
  • to generate or spread personal information that can be used to harm an individual;
  • to present generated content in any context without clearly stating that it is machine generated;
  • to defame, disparage or otherwise harass others;
  • to impersonate or attempt to impersonate others without their consent;
  • for fully automated decision making that adversely affects an individual’s legal rights or creates binding obligations;
  • to discriminate against or harm individuals or groups based on social behavior, personal or personality characteristics, or legally protected characteristics;
  • to exploit the vulnerabilities of a group of people based on age, social, physical or mental characteristics in a way that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm;
  • to provide medical advice or interpret medical results;
  • for the administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration or asylum processes, such as predicting that an individual will commit fraud or a crime.

8. Changes to the app

We may update, change or stop offering features of the app at any time.

9. Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from errors in captions or from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

下载或使用 EasyCaption（以下简称「本 App」）即表示你同意本条款。如果你不同意，请不要使用本 App。如果你通过 App Store 下载本 App，Apple 的《许可应用程序最终用户许可协议》同样适用。

2. 本 App 的功能

本 App 在你的设备上把语音转成文字，让你打字回应，并可以朗读文字。转写使用 Apple 的语音识别，可能需要从 Apple 下载语言资源。

3. 准确性与重要场合

语音识别并不完美。字幕可能漏字、改变原意或听错，尤其是在有背景噪音、距离较远、有口音或多人同时说话时。

  • 在紧急情况下，或涉及医疗、法律、财务或安全的关键决定时，请不要把本 App 作为唯一的沟通方式。
  • 本 App 不是经过认证的口译或字幕服务，不能替代专业口译人员。
  • 重要信息请直接与对方确认。

4. 你的责任

你对自己如何使用本 App 负责。在你所在的地区，转写对话可能受隐私或同意相关法律的约束。请尊重与你交谈的人，并在需要时征得对方同意。

5. 你的内容

你的对话和常用语属于你。它们保存在你的设备上；如果你开启 iCloud 同步，也会保存在你自己的 iCloud 账户中。我们无法访问这些内容。详情请见隐私政策。

6. 第三方服务

本 App 依赖 Apple 提供的服务，包括语音识别、系统朗读声音、iCloud 和 App Store。你对这些服务的使用受 Apple 条款约束。

7. 内置声音

英语、德语、西班牙语、法语、印地语、意大利语、日语、韩语和葡萄牙语的朗读使用 Supertone Inc. 的语音模型 Supertonic 3，该模型以 OpenRAIL-M 许可证授权。使用这些声音即表示你同意，不将这些声音或其生成的语音用于：

  • 任何违反适用法律法规的用途；
  • 以任何方式利用或伤害未成年人；
  • 生成或传播可证实为虚假、且意在伤害他人的信息；
  • 生成或传播可被用来伤害个人的个人身份信息；
  • 在任何场合展示生成的内容而不明确说明其为机器生成；
  • 诽谤、贬损或以其他方式骚扰他人；
  • 未经他人同意冒充或试图冒充他人；
  • 进行对个人合法权利产生不利影响、或产生具有约束力义务的全自动决策；
  • 基于社会行为、个人或人格特征、或受法律保护的特征，歧视或伤害个人或群体；
  • 利用某一群体因年龄、社会、身体或心理特征而存在的弱点，造成或可能造成身体或心理伤害；
  • 提供医疗建议或解读医疗结果；
  • 用于司法、执法、移民或庇护程序，例如预测某人会实施欺诈或犯罪。

8. App 的变更

我们可能随时更新、调整或停止提供本 App 的部分功能。

9. 免责声明

在法律允许的最大范围内，本 App 按「现状」和「现有」提供，不作任何明示或默示的保证，包括对准确性、特定用途适用性和不侵权的保证。

10. 责任限制

在法律允许的最大范围内，开发者不对任何间接、附带、特殊或后果性损害负责，也不对因字幕错误、或因使用或无法使用本 App 而造成的任何损失负责。

11. 条款变更

如本条款有变更，我们会更新本页面和上方的日期。变更后继续使用本 App，即表示你接受更新后的条款。
